Andrew Spence has fused two of his passions to create an undeniably unique music experience of spinning tables and playing saxophone live. Andrew was known for spinning House and Breakbeat sounds with a flair back in Vancouver, Canada, where he made his name as a favorite underground party DJ. Since then, he’s reacquainted himself with his saxophone and traveled across North America and the United Kingdom with his music.
Andrew has recorded and toured with 12-piece Funk band ‘Five Alarm Funk’ and is resident at Vancouver’s upscale Lounge Ginger 62
DJ Iron Chef - Trist Promotions HK’s Music Director
Starting out with the violin at the age of 6 he’s moved his way through music to DJing with the Scratch Academy in LA. Mentored by one of the most established female DJs in the world, the turntablist and drum-and-bass extraordinaire, DJ Shortee (www.djshortee.com), Iron Chef started DJing for small parties and bars, and soon moved his way to popular night clubs in Hong Kong, including M1NT, CLIQ, Sugar and Club No. 9. Now embarking on new musical journeys with the Trist Promotions Crew, he is exploring the new waves of music out there and always looking for fresh artists to feature at their events!
DJ Gutsy - Phenom from Manila
DJ Gutsy started DJing at the mere age of 14 when his mother started bringing him out to the hottest social scenes in the city of Manila. Gutsy started his DJ career out by mixing the sexy sounds of deep house. If anyone knows deep house its DJ Gutsy mixing the hottest vocal house tracks to the tropic heat of the Philippines. After working awhile with a Major Wall St Firm as a Financial Advisor and resigned only to rediscover his DJ side with the help of our recent guest DJ Katsunami (Katrina Razon). Now he’s back to work mixing the smoothest sexiest tracks for you.

“Katrina Razon did not get into music, she was born into it. It was in the year 2000 when she found herself watching Daft Punk’s “One More Time” music video illustrat
ed by her childhood hero, Leiji Matsumoto. She had left her living room that day and realized that electronic music was her first true love. As her years in Manila, Philippines went by, her exposure to electronic music grew only driving her to create party mixes. Razon’s recognition for her compiled mixes have led her to create her own tracks alongside several DJs and musicians.
MTV Asia has interviewed her calling her the Goddess of the Underground. She’s also on the in with the Dimmak crew being close friends to AOki’s production record company. Don’t miss this chance to catch an exciting performance by a vixen DJ!

Trist HK Promotions presents “Live Drum & Dance” with their opening night event on the 25th of February, 2009 at Club No. 9. Trist is a new nightlife concept coming to Hong Kong. “The goal is to expose people to hot new art, fashion, music and of course, nightlife”, says founder, Weldon Fung.

‘Old School’ kicks off later this month with the first event on the 19th of February, 2009. The first to be featured is DJ Iron Chef, a graduate from the Scratch Academy that was set up by Jam Master Jay (Run DMC).
M1NT has joined forces with SilverBlack Card to produce a series of ‘Old School Nights’. This regular Thursday night event will show case the talents of local Hong Kong DJ’s both from M1NT and the SilverBlack Card with the essence of the music coming from those old school sounds.
