December 2011 Mixtape Update
Thank you to the EDM Madness Community for letting me take part in their weekly podcast series. I decided to switch things up a little for this month’s mix with melodic and euphoric Trance tunes, inspired from my Burning Man experience, which encapsulates my feelings of self-discovery, wonder and euphoria.

June 2011 Mixtape Update
In the spirit of Electric Daisy Carnival, taking place this weekend in Las Vegas (June 24-25), I’ve just released my 1st Electronic Dance mixtape. Enjoy and please comment. Man, mixing electronic music is hard, although the bpm’s are relatively the same, the beat-matching has to be spot-on for longer mix-overlays. Also, instead of the fast-paced 8-bar hip-hop transitions, you really have to be patient with your up-faders, making sure that the volume doesn’t cut in or out too soon on fade-ins and fade-outs (definitely struggled there). Also, the timing of mix-in is not as cut-and-dry as hip-hop, i.e., chorus over intro - I found that sometimes, the best place to drop the next song, might not necessarily be the heavy bass drop, after the buildup. I know the mix is not perfect, I’ve definitely made some boo-boos, but this was all done in good-fun (live recording done in 1-shot, with 2-turntables, without any edits or software).

January 2009 Mixtape
My first mixtape of the series — totally rough, uncut and unedited, there are definitely mistakes throughout, but I just wanted to get this out there and get the ball rolling. I’d love to get your feedback and comments on what you thought, as well as what you would like to hear next month.
